Charlie Peterson was born and raised in the beautiful and rugged eastern Sierra Nevada region of California. His grandfather, a professional photographer, and his uncle, a photographer in the United States Navy inspired Charlie’s early interest in photography. During high school, Charlie was mentored by a professional photographer, which further sparked his interest in the art and led directly to his choice of photography as a major in college. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in Applied Art and Design with a concentration in Photography. Charlie’s training and experience includes black and white photography, both black and white and color darkroom printing, studio lighting and photography, commercial and product photography, and digital photography and manipulation. While a student at Cal Poly he taught photography classes at the student run craft center. Following college he has worked continuously as a photography consultant and pursues his love of photography every chance he gets. His work can be seen on his website at www.charliepeterson.com.
